Rick Mercer - Fundraiser for Nanaimo Child Development Centre

The Nanaimo Child Development Centre in partnership with the Port Theatre will proudly host “Rick Mercer: Rant and Raise”. Rick Mercer, live at the Port Theatre, generously hosted by celebrity emcee Vicki Gabereau, will be an evening of pure hilarity as Gemini winning television host, actor and writer, Rick Mercer, shares with us “Canada: A Nation Worth Ranting About.”
Presented by Friends of the Big Kahuna, the event will raise funds to benefit children and youth with developmental needs through the services of the Nanaimo Child Development Centre. Rick’s one-man show chronicles, satirizes, and ultimately celebrates all that is great and irreverent about Canada.
Mercer, known as “Canada’s Unofficial Opposition,” is our most popular comic, a political satirist who knows exactly what matters to regular Canadians and what makes them laugh. Mercer’s unrivalled genius is his ability to make you laugh at, question, think about, and – most of all- appreciate this glorious country we all share.
“The evening combines world class entertainment with community spirit to raise funds which allow the Nanaimo CDC to best serve children living with developmental disabilities and their families.” - Michael Robinson, President, Nanaimo CDC
