Jack Lavin BASS, HARMONICA, GUITAR, VOCALS

Jack Lavin has performed with: Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Robert Cray, Lowell Fulson, Elvin Bishop, John Hammond, Taj Mahal, John Lee Hooker, Otis Rush, Pinetop Perkins, Doug Sahm, Amos Garrett, Long John Baldry, Lazy Lester, Guitar Shorty, Pee Wee Crayton, Jim Byrnes and plenty of others. Hailing from Chicago, he was a mainstay in the Vancouver music scene for over 45 years. As the founding member of the W.C. Handy Award winning Powder Blues Jack penned many songs and was nominated by the Juno Awards Society as Composer of the Year for his hit Thirsty Ears in ’81. Since then he has been producing albums, writing songs and performing in clubs and concerts. Lavin moved to Victoria in 2018 and continues to bring blues music and musicians to his city.

Jan Randall KEYBOARDS, GUITAR, VOCALS

Jan Randall has worked with numerous music legends including Bo Diddley, Otis Rush, Gary US Bonds, Sam Lay, and many more including Canadian guitar virtuosos Amos Garrett and Gaye Delorme. International superstars such as Bob Newhart, John Cleese, Steve Allen, Mike Meyers, Eugene Levy, Martin Short and Catherine O’Hara are just a few of those who worked with him as Music Director for Second City, The Banff International Media Festival, the and the 2001 World Athletic Championships. On the radio, he wrote and performed over 50 comedy songs for CBC's The Irrelevant Show. In the studio he has an extensive track record as the producer and composer of hundreds of soundtracks for CBC, the National Film Board and the Discovery Channel

. Ross Hall DRUMS

Calgary, Alberta born drummer Ross Hall began his career at age 12 and turned pro in the early ‘70s joining the notorious rock cover band Micky Rat touring throughout Alberta for 15 years. He next signed up with Daddy Long Legs and continued touring until his move to Victoria where he teamed up with the Bill Johnson Band. Other credits include The Toasters, Uncle Wiggly’s Hot Shoes Blues Band and the Kingpins. Recently he performed with Maple Blues Award winners Chris Whiteley and Diana Braithwaite. Ross is a first-call session man and the perfect addition to any serious rhythm section.

Rhythm Train creates an irresistible groove - their songs are fun and often humorous. As a band they recently backed blues master Brandon Isaak, and are featured with him in blues/jazz singer LJ Mounteney's new album release. All aboard for a great time with RHYTHM TRAIN!
