Presentation: Reinvention of Radio Since the Golden Era
Presenter: Glen Russell
During this lively presentation, Glen Russell will take us on a musical and sound journey into show business and the history of radio from the days of the crystal set to digital streaming.
Glen will discuss music, voices, programming and promotion based on his experiences working with artists including Joni Mitchell, Led Zeppelin, Ella Fitzgerald, Engelbert Humperdink and Tiny Tim. Glen Russell has a degree in history and philosophy.
He has worked in radio at top ten radio stations in Canada since he was a teenager. Glen taught in the Radio and Television Arts Programs at Ryerson University and Humber College. As a promotion manager, account executive, and media buyer, he worked with many artists, promoting to media their latest releases and appearances. For the last 10 years, Glen has been writing screenplays.
Admission: $10 cash per person at the door, $5 cash for university students with valid student ID card, free high school & elementary school students
