Rehearsals cancelled for Consort Orchestra start date

We begin the 2022 rehearsal sessions at the end of January due to the covid variant, and we will welcome our new Conductor Nathan Jacklin. String players welcome to join to prep for concerts later in March and April. Violins and string basses very welcome. This notice for the first rehearsal will be updated and confirmed near the end of January. This is the Consort Orchestra's 30th Season. Amidst covid restrictions we will be back to making music together, but spaced apart. Masks and proof of vaccination must be shown for entry. Yes we do have a thriving orchestra here in the Cowichan Valley, started in 1991. Look up our history on our website.www.cowichanconsort.com Major choral work performances with our own Consort choir are also listed on the website, not repertoire of 'orchestra only' concerts.

Student string players who are playing at a gr 7 or 8 cons.levels will beable to join in with full enjoyment, but it is always up to the concertmaster and conductor if students may play all pieces on the concert performance. Wind chairs open as of Dec  2021 are 2nd oboe, 3rd horn, & extra trombone on call. Next rehearsal is to be end of January -early Feb 2022. Stay tuned.
