Reconciliation: Meeting the Challenge of Recognition of Aboriginal Title and Rights The theme of reconciliation and recognition of First Nations rights addresses one of our most important social, political and spiritual challenges. It demands new ways of thinking, talking, relating, and acting, both individually and collectively. We are at a pivotal moment in rising to this challenge, and the next few years will help determine the shape of Canadian society for generations to come.
The presentation by Dr. Roshan Danesh will explore the efforts currently being made to achieve justice and new patterns of relations between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians, and the role each of us as individuals can play. This is the opening presentation of 2016 for the bi-monthly series of talks, “Building the Future”, sponsored by the Bahá'í Community of Victoria.
Dr. Roshan Danesh is a lawyer, conflict resolution innovator, and educator whose areas of work, teaching, and writing include conflict resolution, peace-building, constitutional law, Indigenous rights, inter-ethnic and inter-religious dialogue, and organizational dynamics and cohesion.
