READINGS: Authors respond to "The Book of George"

These readings are part of a series to accompany the exhibit "The Book of George: The Life and Art of George Sawchuk". The reading series is funded by a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts. The exhibit is sponsored in part by the Campbell River, Courtenay and District Labour Council and Vancouver Island Mayworks.
Christ Arnett, an author and carver, is also well known as a founding member of the seminal Vancouver punk band The Furies. His books include "Two Houses Half Buried in the Sand: Oral Traditions of the Hul'Q'U MInUM Coast Salish of Kuper Island and Vancouver Island" (Talon Books, 2005).
Author Lee Henderson is an associate professor of creative writing at the University of Victoria. He has written two award-winning books with Penguin Canada -- the story collection "The Broken Record Technique" and the novel "The Man Game".
