Based in Vancouver BC, Raincity Blue’s brand of Neo-Soul showcases a unique experience for listeners - integrating influences from funk, soul, psych-rock, and r&b.
Members Clare Twiddy, Kaylar Chan, Ryley Kirkpatrick, Jay Schreiber, and Chantal Gauthier all come from diverse artistic backgrounds, evident in their original music which offers both power and subtlety. Honest lyrics and alluring melodies tell a story that is sensual, intimate, and empowering.
Early 2017 the band recorded their first EP “Tell Me” (Released June 2017). Since the release they have performed at TD’s Vancouver International Jazz Festival and been featured in the Vancouver 24 hr and on Roundhouse radio. Other highlights in the last year include performing at Chambar Restaurant’s NYE and at the Friday’s on Front Festival, as well as a tour to Vancouver Island. With the support of Creative BC and the BC Music Fund, Raincity Blue recorded their first full album at Rain City Recorders in August, set to release early 2018.
