Rainbow Youth Theatre is pleased to present the musical GYPSY, a story loosely based on the memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee, the famous Burlesque Dancer, and focused on her mother, Rose, whose name has become synonymous with “the ultimate show business mother”. The musical follows the dreams and efforts of Rose to raise two daughters to perform onstage during the 1920′s, when vaudeville was dying and burlesque was born. GYPSY is a gripping story and casts an affectionate eye on the hardships of show business life.

Jule Styne’s music and Stephen Sondheim’s lyrics include Let Me Entertain You, Some People, You’ll Never Get Away from Me, If Momma Was Married, All I Need Is the Girl, Everything’s Coming Up Roses, You Gotta Get A Gimmick and Together Wherever We Go.
