Dreaming of summer, fluffy clouds, sunshine and blue skies? GET SET for Qualicum Beach Airport�s bi-annual Airport Appreciation Day.

Saturday, June 11th, 2011 marks Airport Appreciation Day at Qualicum Beach Airport. The Parksville-Qualicum Aero Club is thrilled to host this event along with airside businesses, the Village of Qualicum Beach, business sponsors and supporting organizations. Deserving special mention for our entertainment enjoyment with their Wings to Fly, are our special guests �those magnificent men and women in their flying machines!

Everyone is invited airside to celebrate the day. The opening ceremonies are set for 10am, with air demonstrations taking place between 11:30am �2:00pm.

There is plenty of free parking on-site, just follow the signs and directions of the volunteers in their bright t-shirts. Drivers in golf carts can transport you airside. Please remember to leave your pets at home--for safety reasons animals are not allowed airside. Attendance is by donation.

Food and beverage concessions are available on site. The gates open at 8am for the Pancake Breakfast. PQAC volunteers w ill be flippin flapjacks to satisfy your early-morning growlies and switching to burgers around lunchtime.

Airport Appreciation Day is designed to promote general aviation and let citizens of the region have a glimpse of what goes on airside. There will be an assortment of planes to view up close as well as a chance to chat with the pilots. Static displays include vintage, home-builts and experimental aircraft. Also on static display will be some of the finest classic cars in the region.

Other on-site activities include Airplane & Helicopter Rides, a chance to get your wings on an Aircraft Simulator, and of course the ever-popular Balsa Wood Airplane Contest for children.

Come out and enjoy this special day at �CAT4� � the Qualicum Beach Airport.
