Quadra Island Quilt and Garden Tour
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
Quadra Island has had a history of early settlers and current residents who are avid gardeners and farmers. Today a new generation of gardeners and farmers has emerged. Our flower gardeners continue to add colour to the landscape while our farmers harvest a wide variety of produce and some raise cattle, sheep, goats and fallow deer.
The quilts displayed will range in size from small journal quilts to bed quilts, lap quilts, wall hangings and quilted jackets.
The tour is a fundraiser to support Quadra Island Recreation Society for their children's programming. The funds also go towards the Quadra Quilter's annual Marathon and Community Quilts. The Marathon quilts are donated to the BC Childrens Hospital to be given to very ill children.
Tickets are available at the Campbell River Tourist information bureau and on Quadra at Inspirations in Quathiaski Cove and Works of H'art in Heriot Bay. They may also be purchased on tour days at the Quadra Island Tourist Booth by the Credit Union. Tickets are good for both tour days. This year the tour is concentrated in the south end of the island and is suitable for a bike tour.
