Join us to celebrate the increasing numbers of Purple Martins, a threatened species in BC and see all the bird activity at the largest Purple Martin colony on Vancouver Island. Learn more about the Purple Martin Recovery program. See and hear what a martin colony sounds like with 60+ breeding pairs. See adult birds feeding young at a real time nest cam. Participate in banding Purple Martin nestlings at 4 pm. Hear stories about Purple martin activities around the Strait of Georgia and other parts of Canada. Display tables and light refreshments will be available.
