Privacy Awareness Training for Non-Profits: a session for directors, staff, and volunteers.

As a non-profit, a fundamental way your organization enhances the quality of life for the communities you serve begins with protecting the personal information they entrust to you. Join us for a 3 hour, comprehensive privacy and information management training session where information management experts from the B.C. government’s Privacy, Compliance and Training Branch de-mystify privacy laws and support your organization’s culture of privacy awareness. This training session will explain the important role you play in:

Applications of the Personal Information Protection Act and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

Appropriate collection, use and disclosure of personal information

Handling personal and confidential information responsibly

Preventing and responding to information incidents in your workplace, including privacy breaches

Please note that in order to keep this event at a very low cost, Volunteer Victoria will only be offering very basic refreshments. Please bring what you need for the 3 hour duration.
