We open the 2015-16 Port Theatre Spotlight Season with a wild double-bill that will take you around the world from genre-bending “multi-culti” beats to the dynamism of modern folk. Delhi 2 Dublin are challenging the definition of urban music with a high-energy, multi-cultural music experience that blends Bhangra, Celtic, Dub Reggae and Electronica.
Vancouver-based indie folk collective The Fugitives almost defy categorization. Their sound is “SLAM-poetry-meets-rock-'n'-roll-meets-chain-gang-harmony” according the The Winnipeg Free Press. A group of multi-instrumentalists, songwriters, poets and novelists, their primary focus lies in banding together to integrate their sensibilities into a dynamic mix of modern folk.
