Ballets Jazz de Montréal (BJM) brings 3 works that showcase the energy and spirit of exploration for which BJM has been known since 1972. Kosmos draws inspiration from the world we live in, the hustle and bustle of the city, the frenetic pace of everyday urban life. Rouge, a new piece for BJM by Rodrigo Pederneiras, is an ode to resilience, a discreet tribute to Native peoples and their musical and cultural legacy. Closer is a complex duet, a voluptuous and vibrant exchange. Imbued with an intense yet simple sensuality, Closer captures the tension between two bodies accompanied by the trembling simplicity of Philip Glass's piano solo “Mad Rush”.
