Tuesday, November 29th, 2016 is GivingTuesday - a day dedicated to giving back around the world, across Canada and in our own community. It is an opportunity for charities, companies and individuals to join together and promote support for favourite causes. motionmailapp.com
Giving Drive Event: Literacy Alberni Society and Alberni Valley Hospice Society have put together a giving drive event for 2017!
Where: Char’s Landing (4815 Argyle St, Port Alberni)
When: November 29, 2017 9am-2pm
Our goal is to engage the public and raise awareness and funds for the many causes in our community.
EACH GROUP IS COLLECTING DIFFERENT ITEMS (in additon to donations of funds):
AV Hospice / Ty Watson House - Collecting QF Receipts and Canadian Tire Money.
(Q-Points can also be donated to Hospice/Ty Watson at the till at Quality Foods.)
Literacy Alberni Society - Donations of books and used computers. Books help sustain our little library program, and used computer donations helped us raise $10,000 last year.
Pride Society - Will be raising awareness of the option to donate cans to their account at the bottle depot.
PAACL - Will be collecting clothing donations, similar to the Kidney Foundation model, but all funds raised stay local and assist PAACL deliver their services to the community.
ACAWS - will be in attendance with information!
