Saturday, March 1st, 2014
1:00 PM to 3:00 PM

If you have heard a bit about Piezography, K7 or Cone inks for making B&W inkjet prints... here's your chance to learn (and see) why this is truly a superior way to make B&W prints with Epson printers. The K7 ink sets produce a richer B&W with a significantly extended range of tonal reproduction, capable of producing prints that equal or even exceed the beauty of traditional gelatin silver or even platinum prints.

The Piezography system is also ideal for making digital negatives that can then be used for contact printing and alternative processes such as platinum/palladium printing, salted paper printing, and cyanotypes.

Francis Sullivan will lead you through the history and development of printing with the Piezography ink set, as well as these additional topics:

- File preparation for Piezography printing
- Converting your Epson printer to Piezography
- Software & Monitor Calibration
- Soft Proofing
- Differences between the various ink sets available
- Relationship between papers & inks sets, and how they impact your print
- A comparison of matt vs. gloss prints including process specific steps
- Digital Negatives (just a brief intro... Digital Negs are worthy of a separate seminar)

Naturally there will also be time to ask questions during the seminar. If you have considered converting your printer or would like to know more about this way of printing B&W, this is perfect opportunity.

Pre-registration is required. Contact Luz Studios to register (contact info below). We will limit the number of people attending to 15 people, so don't delay! *Included in your registration fee: a $20 voucher towards our Print Studio.
