Photofilms: Making the Audio Visual

The perfect medium for visual artists wishing to showcase their work creatively online, Photofilms are easy to make and visually striking.

Day 1 of this workshop, participants will first share images of their artwork with the group, which they have prepared in advance. Using this discussion as a starting point, participants will then pair off and record an interview with each other about their artwork.

Day 2 of this workshop, participants will learn how to combine their interview audio with their still images of their artwork. Finally, participants will learn how to upload the finished Photofilm to Youtube/Vimeo, how to share it on social media, and how to embed the film on a website.

Participants should bring a notebook; a laptop with the programs ‘Reaper’ and ‘iMovie’ already downloaded and installed; a selection of still photographs of their work saved to a USB stick; and a digital audio recorder if they have one.
