Philosophers' Cafe: Conflicted Over Death?
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
Our behaviour suggests conflicting attitudes towards death. On the one hand, we go to great lengths to preserve life, but on the other, we do little to protect ourselves against nuclear and environmental threats. Can we make sense of our own behaviour or attitudes regarding the finality of life?
Come join us to debate this topic at the Philosophers' Cafe.
Facilitator is Rachel Cooper, a member of the Psychology Department at VIU. She is currently teaching a course on death and dying and is also interested in consciousness and altered states.
