Persons Day Luncheon and Speaker
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
CFUW Nanaimo is hosting a celebration of Persons Day, the date in 1929 when the British Privy Council ruled that Canadian women were persons and could sit in the Senate of Canada. What a huge decision!
Come and hear our speaker Merna Forster, author and activist from Victoria who led the recent campaign to put women back on the Canadian banknote and who is now on the Advisory Committee to select who that woman will be. Enjoy lunch prepared by Sea Salt Caterers. Door prizes, great company, and stories to tell.
