This collection of pottery and sculptures is a culmination of a year’s introspection, empathy and collaboration. Lyon’s work is intrinsically linked to his community and his gratitude to the ceramic craft. He expresses this gratitude through constant learning, experimentation and sharing of his passion. Along with his pottery Joe is presenting 4 introspective and collaborative ceramics sculptures that explore his personal history. Specifically how growing up with white male privilege seeded with deep personal loss has affected how he sees the importance of equity in his community. Joe uses his craft to actively amplify voices of marginalized communities through collaboration. Collaborators include Rajnii Eddins and Fallon Marie and Lyndsay Ford.
