Peninsula Singers Life Journeys we Take

Many a songwriter has given us something to sing about when it comes to life’s journey. For the Peninsula Singers’ spring concert, we’ll take a musical journey that touches on the important milestones we reach in life, the roadblocks we may encounter and the joys we may be lucky enough to savour. The Beatles’ “In My Life” sums up the spring concert: “There are places I remember/all my life though some have changed/some forever not for better/some have gone and some remain.” Artistic Director Glenda Korella has chosen songs that celebrate love—the teenage version filled with angst and the view of two older companions in “Fields of Gold.” There’s much merriment, as usual with the Singers. For example, the Men of the Peninsula Singers will once again show that they are the all-time champion hams with their take on the late 50’s pop hit by the Searchers, “Love Potion Number 9”. On the other hand, the Women of the Peninsula Singers will ask mum for advice in “Ma, He’s Makin’ Eyes at Me.” And of course, how can we get through the detours and roadblocks without a friend. So, we’ll sing Carol King’s “You’ve Got A Friend.” Come with us and enjoy the ride.
