Community of Christ in Independence, Mo. and Victoria, BC, is hosting a Peace Colloquy with focus on the environment and sustainable communities.
Program:
Fri., Oct. 21 5:30 PM: Broadcast of Peace Award to Terry Tempest Williams �Environmental issues are social-spiritual issues that ultimately become matters of justice. She demonstrates the power of peacefully taking a stand on behalf of life, land, and the people who depend upon it. �
Sat. Oct. 22 2:00 PM: Workshops on the environment and sustainable communities with Richard Carson from Parks Canada, Anke van Leeuvan from Victoria Transition Town and natural builder Patrick Bolger.
Sun. Oct. 23 10:00 AM: Informal conversation, presentations and worship service with Shirley Alphonse and Andrew Moore from the T�Souke Nation who will describe their community�s efforts to live in harmony with the earth while living in the modern age.
