PD Day Art Camps This Island | This Imagination Friday, October 20, 9 am - 2 pm Ages 5–12 Supplies included $30 per child | $55 for two siblings Bring lunch, snack, and water
Young participants will begin the day as art investigators, and with pencil and clipboard in hand, tour Jin-me Yoon's exhibition Spectral Tides, which features video, photography, and installation, and explores history, memory, language, cultural identity and two islands—Vancouver Island and Jeju-do, one of South Korea's largest islands. In Art Lab, we will create dynamic three-dimensional collage works inspired by our own histories, place, and identity. On cardboard forms, we will use archival and current images, maps and ads and insert our own self-portraits to create stories inspired by our past, present, and future together. Embellishments with wire, paint markers, gold leaf and decorative papers will add to these imaginative artworks!
