Painting: The Fantastical Landscape

In this six-week painting course, you will explore the ways to create uniquely playful and fantastical landscapes. Weekly projects will introduce ideas and elements to incorporate in your painting, with the goal to make unconventional and visually exciting works. The course will include information about composition and colour and how these elements are used to create different moods and sensations in a work. The landscape work of historical and contemporary artists will be shown and discussed as a further way to expand the imaginative possibilities of the landscape genre. Participants can paint in a medium of their choice: acrylics, oil, watercolour or gouache. Some painting experience required or simultaneous registration in Painting: The Basics.
