Learn how to paint the drama and beauty of the chiaroscuro, which is an Italian term used to describe the dramatic effect of contrasting areas of light and dark in a painting. Using the genre of still life, we will learn how to paint draped fabric, colour mixing, composition and acrylic painting techniques. We will experiment with different ways of achieving shadows that blend into the background creating mystery. The class will finish with a completed painting in the chiaroscuro style. Come and enjoy painting in a fun and supportive environment. Some acrylic painting experience would be helpful. Supplies required.
