Learn to paint natural light into your paintings!

Painting light into your paintings will add interest and vibrancy. To achieve that you must work from a well lit source and believe your eye when painting the contrast of values.

In this demonstration, Bev will cover colour mixing using neutrals and mixing cool and warm colours and light and dark values from basic neutrals. She will also demonstrate a glazing technique through mediums. The hope is that attendees see the importance of contrast of values “to show light there must also be dark.”

Bev was born and raised on Vancouver Island. She has always drawn, painted and created in some way or another. In her pursuit of an artistic outlet, life has taken her on a long journey of many careers, all of which satisfied her creatively some what but also kept her from devoting the time to her true passion: painting. In 2012, with no formal training but with a keen eye and a desire to learn, she decided to follow her dream and become a full time artist. Since then she has earned many awards and recognitions and has now achieved the status of Associate member of the Federation of Canadian Artist.
