Two approaches have defined the search for new ways of presenting the modern painting in relation to image and object: the monochrome and the collage.
In this informative, hands-on weekend, you will experiment with a variety of materials and ideas to develop new approaches to image content, layering, surface and form to gain a richer understanding of movements such as Dada, Constructivism and Minimalism. Instruction will include slide shows, demos, studio work and critical feedback. Some painting experience recommended. Acrylic paints are the medium of choice for this workshop (see supply list for suggested materials to bring to this workshop).
