Painting: Colour and Form

This abstract painting course considers how colour works as an element with shape, form and ground to create a painting composition. Scale and proportion will also be considered. This course is an ideal sequel to Understanding Colour I and provides a vehicle to put the theory into action. The emphasis will be on constructing compositions based on historical and contemporary geometric abstraction. A list of suggested projects which will aid the student in the development of a colour language will be provided. Prerequisite: Understanding Colour I or basic knowledge of colour theory and painting experience.
