Oysters, Authors & Ale is a literacy event to help raise awareness about adult literacy in the communities of Bamfield and Anacla. It is a celebration of locality and literacy that takes place over an evening featuring beer tasting, an oyster bar, live music, a silent auction and, of course, readings from a number of local and visiting authors. This year our line-up includes Grant Lawrence, as heard on CBC Radio and Sylvia Taylor, author of �The Fisher Queen�.
The Bamfield Community School Association works to provide literacy, community development, and health and wellness for residents of Bamfield and Anacla. Admission is $20 and half of all ticket sales, as well as all of the funds raised through the silent auction go towards supporting future literacy initiatives in Bamfield and Anacla. Tickets include: beer tasting, a baked and raw oyster, readings by local authors, live music and two entries into the raffle draw.
