Oxide and Shibori Dyeing

This is a continuation of our previous workshop on the Japanese art of Shibori tie dyeing; however, new participants are very welcome too! Participants will develop and combine basic binding and clamping techniques and explore sewing methods in Shibori using hand stitching, machine work and application of small objects onto the surface fabric. The class will also include contact rust printing using found objects. Each person will take home a completed set of dyed fabrics. Please Bring: Clothes you don’t mind getting dye on (do not wear clothing with loose, dangling sleeves) A large bag for taking your fabrics home in (they will still be wet at the end of the session)
