Annette Yourk is a storyteller, freelance writer and instructor with TheScribes.ca. Her work in fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction has appeared in literary journals, anthologies, newspapers, magazines and online. A graduate of Simon Fraser University’s Writing & Publishing Program, and of the Provincial Instructor’s Diploma Program in Adult Education, she has worked in all genres and with a wide range of learners; designing teaching, and editing.
The Workshop Our Storied Paths will center on four themes: Memory, Story, Symbol, and Ritual.
Participants will use photographs and other imagery to evoke memory and seek the unexpected through guided visualizations of story elements, fragments and scenes. Participants collaborate to create a setting (installation) and process of creating sacred space and enacting ritual. (Public participation is a possibility – to be discussed.)
Participants provide: photographs, talismans, objects and materials of significance. Small blank journal for note taking.
