On Friday, November 8, 2013, at 8:00 p.m., The Lafayette String Quartet, Andrew Schloss, Scott MacInnes, Trimpin, and others will come together perform a selection of works by David A. Jaffe. (Purchase tickets to this event.)
This versatile composers compositions range from the acoustic to the electronic. The concert will encompass a broad spectrum of Jaffes output from the old time fiddle-inspired Cluck Old Hen Variations to the Canadian premiere of The Space Between Us for radio drum, two string quartets, piano, and robotic percussion designed by Seattles Trimpin, who returns to Open Space to install the robotic instrument to the ceiling. Also, on this concert, The Lafayette String Quartet will present the world premiere of the newly commissioned string quartet Fox Hollow.
Mounting the works of David A. Jaffe is no small feat. Come see this concert that reaches the cutting edge of acoustic and robotic composition.
