The Brentwood Bay Village Empourium, Brentwood's newest gathering place for high quality coffee, great food, gifts, cards, art, collectibles and more, invites musicians and music lovers to its third Open Mic Night, hosted by Mark Hellman (Pete Seeger's The Incompleat Folksinger, Good Timber). February's event proved to be eclectic and engaging, and a full roster of players came out--a great start to a new tradition in Brentwood!

Scheduled for the 4th Friday every month, this month's event is this Friday (March 24), starting at 7:30pm. Interested musicians, please sign up no later than 7pm. 3-song set, or about 15 min. Small in-house PA provided.

From owner/operators Alice Bacon and John Carswell: " We want to encourage more vibrant and visible local music community on the Saanich Peninsula. We hope to contribute by providing a public venue for artists to perform in front of an audience, find inspiration, give and receive feedback (if desired), share ideas, support other musicians, make new connections and have fun. This open mic night is for both singer-songwriters (to try out their tunes), as well as those who like to share songs, old and new, written by others."
