New interpretive panels were dedicated in June of this year at No.1 Japanese Town, one of several Japanese Canadian communities that were an integral part of the history of Cumberland until 1942. Discover the lives of community leaders, their stories of triumph after internment and the rich social history that vanished overnight. Leaves from the No.1 Town parking lot (signed, next left after the turnoff for Jumbo's Cabin). Allow 1 hour 15 minutes. Wheelchair accessible.
