With April showers soon to bring May flowers, Nanaimo-Ladysmith Schools Foundation (NLSF) is welcoming the change in season by bringing back their popular spring craft market. Come check out the crafts and don’t forget to enter this year’s raffle for two tickets anywhere WestJet flies or a $500 Co-op gas card!
The “Hello Spring” market will feature over 90 Island-based vendors. “It’s the perfect opportunity to find something unique for Mother’s Day while supporting the vibrant creative culture we enjoy on the Island,” said Crystal Dennison, Executive Director of NLSF. The market will feature hand-made crafts like cards, scarves, jewelry, soap and candles.
Entrance is free, though donations will be taken at the door. There’s something for whole family, including a children’s activity for the younger set. Food trucks will be on site for hungry shoppers, and raffles will be held for a variety of gift baskets, many with items donated by the vendors. Proceeds from the entrance donations, table rentals and raffles will benefit the NLSF’s student support program to help local school children living in poverty.
“We appreciate the wonderful support we’ve received from the community for our craft market,” said Dennison. “The generosity of our fellow Islanders allows us to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children.” For more information on the spring craft fair, check out NLSF’s Facebook page.
