2:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Newcombe Singers present their annual Mother's Day concert and tea. Here's a great opportunity to spend time with Mom and maybe even make it a generational event. The Requiem, sung in Latin, is by Durufle, a 20th Century composer. His harmonies and rhythms may surprise you. His Motets can best be enjoyed if you imagine a group of chanting Gregorians living in the 20th Century.

Conductor, Peter Dent, is noted for both Classical and Jazz. So, after the intermission the choir sets a lighter mood. There are well known songs from Hollywood, Disney films and Broadway as well as a trip back in time to "Old Mother Hubbard" and her very famous cupboard. This half he even hands over the baton to Kristina Stevens, Conductor in Training, and joins the choir as a tenor while we encourage you all to "Take Time".

Everyone is encouraged to join the choir for tea and plant sale in the adjoining hall. We hope to see you on May 12, that special day to honor Mom.
