Newcastle Island/Saystushun has long been a significant place in the traditional territory of Snuneymuxw First Nation. Today this Jewel In The Harbour is a beautiful park with walking trails, beaches, the historic Pavilion, cafe, marina, camping and more. Learn about the island, culture and plant life. Listen to story telling.

The cultural walking tour goes about 1 1/2 hours and leads into the Salmon BBQ feast with salmon cooked in the tradition way over a pit fire.

Don't miss out on this great way to spend the day and feel the energy of this special place.

Please note that a minimum of 25 people are required to run this event.  Bookings should be made at least 3 days prior so we know how much salmon to bring.  A few late add ons can usually be accommodated.

Newcastle Island is accessable by foot ferry from Maffeo Sutton Park.  The ferry service is provided by an independant operator, return trip is $9 for adults and $6 for kids.
