Nature Nanaimo's first meeting of the fall season will feature “Birds of Vancouver Island” – a photographic presentation by Mike Yip. Mike will share his passion for birds and amazing photographs while providing an overview of our local birds - how many there are and where they come from. He will also include some rare and unusual birds and discuss albinism and leucism in birds.
Mike Yip is a retired teacher and an amateur avian photojournalist, dedicated to increasing public awareness of the birds on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. He writes bi-monthly bird articles for a local newspaper, is a frequent PowerPoint presenter for festivals and clubs, and has self-published three books on Vancouver Island birds
