Fossil Turtles from the Cretaceous of Western Canada
Turtles have a variety of habitats, diverse diets, and an extensive fossil record. Through this record, knowledge of ancient environments can be gleaned, even in the absence of other vertebrate fossils. Though well-documented in some rock formations, fossil turtles in understudied areas are coming to light. Join Derek Larson (Royal BC Museum) in an exploration of new fossil turtle discoveries in British Columbia and Alberta and their implications for the ancient climate, palaeoecology, and biogeography of western Canada.
