National Aboriginal Day in the Capital First Peoples Festival

First Peoples Festival celebrating National Aboriginal Day in the Capital returns to Ship Point festival site on Victoria�s Inner Harbour on Sunday, June 23. Artists market open from 11 am to 5 pm. Performances start at 11 am and feature Unity Drummers and Singers; Kwhlii Gibaygum Nisga'a; Quwutsun Tzinquaw Drummers & Dancers; Lelala Dancers; Gitlaxdax Nisga'a Dancers; West Coast Jiggers Metis Nation Greater Victoria; and Journeys of the Heart childrens group. The event is hosted by the Victoria Native Friendship Centre and the BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres with support from the Solstice Celebration Aboriginal Cultural Society, the Provincial Capital Commission, the City of Victoria and Surround by Cedar. Free event. Everyone welcome.
