The Nanaimo Amateur Radio Association will be celebrating it’s 67th Birthday this month. We will be inviting the public, other amateur radio clubs and ham radio operators to come out and join us for this event.
It will be on Saturday 18th April from 1pm – 7pm. There will a number of displays on digital and voice modes of Ham Radio, a Foxhunt and refreshments available including cake to celebrate. This is also World Amateur Radio Day, a day when radio amateurs worldwide take to the airwaves to celebrate and tell the world about the hobby we can help teach, the community service we can provide and the fun we have. In 1925 that the International Amateur Radio Union was formed in Paris.
From the 25 countries that formed the IARU, they have now grown to include over 160 member-societies in three regions. Today, Amateur Radio is more popular than ever, with over 3,000,000 licensed operators around the world! We hope you will join in the fun and education that is World Amateur Radio Day!
