The Nanaimo Yacht Club is heading into their Winter Racing Series and encourages non members to participate in their racing series. If you have your own sailboat, put those sails on and join in friendly on the water rivalry. If your boat doesn't have a rating, you will be given one upon registration for fair competition. There is room for experienced and beginning skippers and crew. If you would like to learn more about the sport of sailing and don't have a boat, show up at the skippers meeting and you will get on a boat. No one is ever left behind. There is no better way to hone your sailing skills than racing, even if cruising is your passion. Although the competition can be pretty serious, the socializing afterward up in the Clubhouse is warm with comradery. Chase away those winter blues and get out on the water. Friendships guaranteed!
