Friday, September 13th to Saturday, September 14th, 2019. Location of all Events: Nanaimo Neighbourhood Church, 4851 Rutherford Road, Nanaimo, BC., http://NanaimoNeighbourhoodChurch.


Friday, September 13th. Evening concert featuring Vancouver Island's own Ali Romanow and also back by popular demand “The Naked Waiters” from Provo, Utah. Doors open for general seating at 6:30 pm and concert starts 7:00 pm to approx. 9:00 pm. Tickets price is $25.00 and available at Arbutus Music, at the door or on-line at www.nanaimoukulelefestival.ca.


Saturday, September 14th. Workshops: Introduction to 12 Bar Blues and Improvisation (morning) and Percussion on the Ukulele ~ Chunky is Funky (afternoon) with “The Naked Waiters”; Ukulele Tablature and Fingerstyle or (What the heck is PIMA anyway?), with Carol Johns, JHUI Level 1 Instructor; The Mystery of Chords (What is the 1, 4, 5?) with Liz Debarros, JHUI Level 3 Instructor; Absolute Beginner 101 & Absolute Beginner 102 (Moving On) with Ali Romanow, JHUI Level 1 Instructor. Saturday, September 14th: A fun-filled “Jammin Ukulele Jamboree” and Open Mic from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at Nanaimo Neighbourhood Church.


Doors open at 4:00 pm and the music starts at 4:30 pm. Open Mic: Bring a favourite song/piece you have been working on to showcase. Sing & Strum: Featuring the “Revolving Doors” from Parksville. Bring your ukes and a fun attitude and be prepared to sing and strum your heart out with all the other uke players during the sing-along. No need to bring a stand or any of your own books/sheet music. All the music will be projected onto a screen to easily follow along too. Admission is free ~ Donations appreciated.
