Nanaimo has a history rich in lacrosse, winning their one and only Mann Cup title in 1956. Many of lacrosse's all-time great players have worn Timbermen colors throughout the team's history. These include greats like Bobby Allan, Harry Wipper, Don Ashbee, Jack Bionda Kevin Alexander, Barney Evans and Mac Maude.

While Timbermen players once called historic Civic Arena in downtown Nanaimo home, the current edition of the TMen now play out of Frank Crane Arena at Beban Park.
