Join the Nanaimo & Area Land Trust and work towards a better future for the Nanaimo River. Participate in the Nanaimo River Strategies Symposium and share your thoughts and ideas about the river and it's future!
This is a multi-stakeholder initiative to develop strategies and actions that will protect the values of the Nanaimo River Watershed for the future. Stakeholders include agencies and government levels that are involved in the river in some way, businesses and industries that operate in the watershed, local First Nations, residents who live within the watershed, people who use the river for recreation, the City of Nanaimo water-users and anyone else who has a connection to the river and the watershed.
Some of the many values of the river are: water quality and quantity, agriculture, recreation, fisheries, forestry, wildlife and their habitat, historical and cultural values and the estuary.
