Nanaimo Kayak Fishing Derby

In support of the Nanaimo River Fish Hatchery, Alberni Outpost and Gone Fishing are hosting Nanaimo's first annual pink salmon Kayak Fishing Derby. Grand prize will be a kayak from Ocean Kayak. The derby is open to all human-powered watercraft. All proceeds go directly to Nanaimo River Fish Hatchery.
This event also includes family workshops on kayak fishing, rigging kayaks, fly fishing and more! Tickets are $25 and are available from Gone Fishing and Alberni Outpost.
