Hank Cramer

Hank Cramer is one of the most popular folksingers on the West Coast. He is well-known for his booming bass voice, wry humour, and smooth picking on a vintage flat-top guitar. Boisterous songs of the sea are his forte, though he is equally versed in Celtic ballads, railroad tunes, and cowboy songs.

Hank is no stranger to Vancouver Island audiences. He and his band Constellations Crew gave welcoming concerts for Tall Ships Victoria in both 2005 and 2008. Hank has performed for both the Saltwater and Island Folk Festivals, and has sung for the folk clubs at Sooke, Victoria, Deep Cove, Nanaimo, Highlands, Mill Bay, and Brentwood Bay as far back as 1995.

Sing Out! magazine described Hanks Songs of USS Constellation as the most beautiful and accomplished album of sea music weve ever heard. Faith Petric, long-term leader of the San Francisco folk community, described Hank this way: He made me laugh, and he made me cry. And thats what good music is all about. So far, Hank has recorded nineeen CDs, three music videos, and three movie soundtracks. When not on the road performing, Hank lives on a ranch in the Okanogan country with his wife Kit, daughter Kelsey, and their many critters.
