Join the Nanaimo Family History Society for our monthly meetings, which are free to members. We book exciting speakers on a variety of genealogy topics, and we possess an extensive library of topical books from around the world to aid you with your research. You will have the chance to learn from other members, and we offer the opportunity for you to share your knowledge virtually if you wish.

In September our own Bronwyn Frazer will discuss the first step in the Genealogical Proof Standard, which is a thorough and reasonably exhaustive search for sources. Using her own family history Bronwyn will examine what this means.

In October we welcome Eunice Robinson of the British Columbia Genealogical Society. Eunice will look at one of the biggest dilemmas facing family historians, what to do with my research after I am no longer here.

For our November meeting we focus on WW1 and WW11. Glenn Wright of Ottawa, Ontario will talk about researching our war dead.

We are hosting hybrid meetings in September and October. That means you can join us in person at the Beban Park Social Centre or virtually through Zoom. In November we return to Zoom only meetings for the winter months.
