Come celebrate Earth, Water, and Wild Foods Day - a free festival-style community event at Bowen park from 11am -3pm. There will be something for everyone with workshops, demos, interactive community displays, children’s activities, food vendors, and live music all honouring our local environment!
Workshops @ Earth Water & Wild Foods Day
Lawn Alternatives -- 11:30am - 12:30pm Water use doubles in the summer, often as people try to keep up with thirsty landscaping. Discover ways to adopt edible and native plants, beautiful rock gardens, lush groundcovers, and permeable surfaces into your gardening plan. Have your yard look vibrant without chemicals or excess water. Presented by horticulturalist Amy Robson of Nature’s Choice Design.
Millstone River Walk -- 1:30 - 2:30pm Explore the Millstone River as it passes through Bowen Park and learn about local stream habitats and native, edible plants from guides whose expertise will both educate and entertain!
