The Nanaimo Early Years Leadership Team is hosting an All Candidates meeting on Monday October 27th, 2014 from 12-12:45pm at the Nanaimo Child Development Centre located at 1135 Nelson Street.

This meeting will provide an an opportunity for all candidates to learn about the priorities regarding a healthy community for Children and Youth. The meeting will include a presentation highlighting key issues and priorities for children and youth, as well as a question and answer period for attendees and the media.

The Nanaimo Early Years Leadership Team (NEYLT) is a group of professionals dedicated to raising awareness of the issues faced by children and youth in Greater Nanaimo. NEYLT is comprised of members from the following organizations: City of Nanaimo, Ministry of Children and Family Development, the Boys and Girls Club, the United Way of Nanaimo, Nanaimo-Ladysmith Public Schools, the Nanaimo Child Development Centre, the Nanaimo Aboriginal Centre, Island Health, Children’s First Early Years, Children’s Health Foundation, Kw’umut Lelum.

The meeting agenda and format are as follows:

12:00pm – MC welcome – MC identification of attending candidates
12:05pm – Elder prayer
12:06 – 12:10 – Identification of Agency reps
12:10 – 12:40 – Child and Youth Priorities presentation
